Tomorrow

Tomorrow starts another day...

Delia will officially start preschool (though unofficially we told her she started two weeks ago during her orientation week --- which we extended to full day with aftercare).  She turned 4 in August  - I'll need to back blog a bit  - but until then, here is the photo of her first day:

Josh and I will take our second Whole30 challenge --- eek!  We enjoyed our June challenge and are as ready as we can be for September (excluding that part where I cram on ice cream, wine and Chef Geoff's tonight).

And... I'm going to revive this blog tomorrow --- with the first two topics being Delia's new Preschool routine and our second attempt at the Whole30!

To those who read... here we go!

I've Got Friends In Many Places!

Delia has friends all over the map! She can't wait to meet even more. Here are some that she's snapped a photo with:

Dasha & Nate Smith Aryn Bloodworth
(Kenya) (New York City)

Tina and Dick Roberts
(Wilmington, North Carolina)

Nancy Baxter Karen Hartje
(Maple Plain, MN)

Kristine Miska Ben Miller
(St. Bonifacius, MN) (Minneapolis, MN)

Hands Free Halloween and Pumpkin Carving Alternatives

How to make a hands free halloween costume with minimal sewing:
1. Cut a piece of brown fleece large enough to tuck around the baby carrier
2. Cut small green rectangles out of the green fleece and small circles from the brown
3. Draw "$" symbols on the circles with a marker
4. Tack dollars onto brown fleece and baby hat (glue would work too)
5. Adult dresses in all black
6. Place baby safely in the carrier
7. Tuck completed brown fleece around the baby and carrier
So some families may have traditions of carving pumpkins, however Delia learned this year that her Mama prefers to bake the pumpkins. First the little pumpkins posed together for a Kodak moment with Delia in her Halloween onsie. Here's a link to the pumpkin muffins Mama made for the second year in a row (last year Delia craved them in utero). Yum!

Splish Splash!

Splish Splash! Grandma Kim loves to clean and Delia loves to be cleaned... together they were a steller combo. Delia really loved the mirror next to the sink making bathtime at Grandma's double the fun! Check out the bathtime video on the right side of the screen... pretty funny!

Family in the Northland!!!

Delia had a very busy 3 and a half weeks in Bemidji meeting relatives and friends. Though Mama had warned her that it would be very cold in Minnesota, it was the most beautiful fall most Minnesotans can remember. Auntie Shannon was very happy the weather was so nice for her wedding (so was Delia). Here are some family pictures :-).

Delia's First Quilt!

Delia's First Quilt!
Before Baby Delia was born, at a baby shower far far away (out beyond the Twin Cities' Suburbia at the home of Karen and Nancy) many of her MN friends and family gathered. Each person was asked to make a quilt square at the party. Afterward they were all sewn together to form a masterpiece. The end product is beautiful and Delia loves it dearly. She's trying hard not to drool on it, and awaits the day she can use it in a big girl bed (as for now it is a little large for her bassinet).
