I've Got Friends In Many Places!

Delia has friends all over the map! She can't wait to meet even more. Here are some that she's snapped a photo with:

Dasha & Nate Smith Aryn Bloodworth
(Kenya) (New York City)

Tina and Dick Roberts
(Wilmington, North Carolina)

Nancy Baxter Karen Hartje
(Maple Plain, MN)

Kristine Miska Ben Miller
(St. Bonifacius, MN) (Minneapolis, MN)

Hands Free Halloween and Pumpkin Carving Alternatives

How to make a hands free halloween costume with minimal sewing:
1. Cut a piece of brown fleece large enough to tuck around the baby carrier
2. Cut small green rectangles out of the green fleece and small circles from the brown
3. Draw "$" symbols on the circles with a marker
4. Tack dollars onto brown fleece and baby hat (glue would work too)
5. Adult dresses in all black
6. Place baby safely in the carrier
7. Tuck completed brown fleece around the baby and carrier
So some families may have traditions of carving pumpkins, however Delia learned this year that her Mama prefers to bake the pumpkins. First the little pumpkins posed together for a Kodak moment with Delia in her Halloween onsie. Here's a link to the pumpkin muffins Mama made for the second year in a row (last year Delia craved them in utero). Yum!

Splish Splash!

Splish Splash! Grandma Kim loves to clean and Delia loves to be cleaned... together they were a steller combo. Delia really loved the mirror next to the sink making bathtime at Grandma's double the fun! Check out the bathtime video on the right side of the screen... pretty funny!

Family in the Northland!!!

Delia had a very busy 3 and a half weeks in Bemidji meeting relatives and friends. Though Mama had warned her that it would be very cold in Minnesota, it was the most beautiful fall most Minnesotans can remember. Auntie Shannon was very happy the weather was so nice for her wedding (so was Delia). Here are some family pictures :-).

Delia's First Quilt!

Delia's First Quilt!
Before Baby Delia was born, at a baby shower far far away (out beyond the Twin Cities' Suburbia at the home of Karen and Nancy) many of her MN friends and family gathered. Each person was asked to make a quilt square at the party. Afterward they were all sewn together to form a masterpiece. The end product is beautiful and Delia loves it dearly. She's trying hard not to drool on it, and awaits the day she can use it in a big girl bed (as for now it is a little large for her bassinet).

Yoga, Aquarium, Bemidji Bound!

Mama sure has been keeping Delia busy lately trying to pass the time until we go to Bemidji (15 days... but who's counting). Today Delia went to yoga again. It's a Mommy Yoga class that babies get to come to too. Sometimes Delia stretches a little, other times she just eats or sleep. Here is Delia at the end of class, all tuckered out.

Delia has this cool aquarium that amuses her for hours (well minutes) on end. Today she "swam" in her aquarium long enough for Mama to take a shower. In this case, the aquarium had to be moved next to the bathroom door where she could be heard, just in case boredom set in while Mama had soap in her hair.
Who's getting excited to go to Bemidji?!? Delia! Here Delia is posing with her Paul Bunyan and Babe Bemidji blanket. She can hardly believe that Paul is so tall and is excited that Babe is blue like her aquarium's whale. She wonders though if Uncle Patrick is this tall too? Maybe it's something in the water in Bemidji...

Heart in Georgia!

When Delia was 12 days old she took a journey to Georgia to meet her Gill grandparents. She was an excellent flyer to Atlanta, spending the majority of her flight time on Daddy's chest for a change, sleeping basically the entire way. She couldn't wait to meet Nana and Gramps at the airport! On the way back to DC Mama was worried she jinxed her by bragging to the person next to her how good she was on the first flight, but she put in a second stellar performance.
Giggling and Chatting with Nana!Growing right before Gramps's eyes.
Delia took a nap on Gramps's chest every morning during the visit.Taking time out to relax in Georgia. Testing out the Baby Bjorn... ready for take off!

I hate/love the water!

Delia had a rough go of her first bath... she and Daddy were equally traumatized.
However, Daddy persisted and found a way to make Delia love the water.
Also enjoying the pool were Delia's new friends, the Armstrongs! Delia and Amelia actually share the same birthday - just two years apart. Many birthday gatherings seem to be in the future!

Photo Shoot

On day 6 (I know this seems like so long ago) we had a mini photo shoot with the ever photogenic Delia. Here are the first 10 photos the photographer sent over. There are more to come, but I wanted to share these for now.

Two Weeks Today!

Today I turned two weeks old! It is hard to believe. At my pediatricians visit on Friday I weighed in at 8lbs 5oz - over a pound heavier than I was born! I got a clean bill of health in addition to that. My favorite activities at the moment include... eating, sleeping, and getting changed. So far so good at letting my parents get some sleep at night. I usually just wake up once per night (their fingers remained crossed).

Visitors

Delia is pleased to announce that a steady stream of visitors have come by to meet her. She wows everybody by being extra sweet and alert when company is over. Last weekend she met her Great Grandma and Grandpa Enright as well as her Mama's very excited cousin Megan.

Tonight Mama's friends Dasha and Nate came by (they had just landed from Kenya!). Also Adam came by to try and put Delia to sleep again, but her parents said it was too early for bedtime, and kept her awake and be social. In addition Jessica and Isaac came by too. Jessica and Delia share the same birthday!
